DUNLOP D407F FRONT TYRES WILL BE CHANGING OVER TO D408F

There will be a running change to the front tyre on 2009 models. Dunlop D407F front tires will be changing over to D408F tires during the first half of calendar year 2009. The primary difference between the two constructions is the direction of the tread. This will be executed as a running change for MY2009. The D408F tire will offer improved tire wear for some customers over the D407F.

Important Note:
When mounting the tires, refer to the directional arrows on the sidewall to ensure correct directional rotation.

It is important NOT to mount any tires in the opposite direction of the arrows for any reason.

Motorradreifen: MICHELINfor example: 120/70 ZR 17 M/C TL 58W PILOT POWER
This is the standard Pilote Power from Michelin, but for some bikes there are specifications.
Especialy in Germany  wher you can drive as fast as you want on the  "German Autobahn" the producer put the bikes on special OE tyres produced just for this or for a small range of bikes.

There you see for what bike this tyre is recomendet.

Also when you search from the beginnig by motorcycle - you will finde just the recomendet tyre for yor bike.
What not meens you are not allowd to put the "normal" version on you bike. It is defenetiy the bether tyre for your bike.

In common with driving the vehicle manufacturers are model-based solutions for security-related criteria Shimmy, kick-back and develop high-speed stability and driving characteristics, such as Handling, steering and cornering stability optimized. These are constructive changes to the tire, such as an additional Karkass other thread angle of the substructure, or a different contour of the tire, etc. It is imperative for the retrofitting of additional ID to be respected.  In general, in Germany regiserd motorcycles allow only this tires with specification, the tires on the release or in the car for the relevant papers are listed motorcycle. "
Raceres know for examle the same tyre problems in the motoGP  or  F1  wher all have now the same tyre, but they works different on every car or bike.

World premiere at the circuit in the Algarve (of Portugal) at the press conference presenting the 2009 World Superbike, for which Pirelli is the exclusive tire supplier until 2012.


Portimão (Portugal) 23 January 2009 - Pirelli presents a world preview at the circuit in the Algarve in Portugal the Angel ST, the motorcycle tyre with a changing tread pattern and footprint design on the ground: first the appearance of an Angel, then the silhouette of a Demon, representing at the same time the double soul of the product - reliable and sporty. Angel ST is dedicated to riders who love to travel by motorcycle and thus favor reliability, safety and durability. This double soul matches the alternate desires of the Sport Tourer, who at the right times, does not want to sacrifice the thrills of the curve and the emotion of acceleration.

Angel ST, which will be launched to the market by spring, is the result of innovative technology solutions, compiled by Pirelli's research and development centers. The goal is to meet motorcyclists' demands with a product which merges the traditional sporty characteristics of Pirelli with the demands of security and reliability, as well as value for the money. The decision to adopt the tread to contain the icon of an angel, intended after 1,000 km of use to transform itself gradually into demon, stems from the desire to pay homage to the movie Angels & Demons (w/ Tom Hanks, out in May 2009), for which Pirelli was a partner as the supplier of tires of car used in several scenes.

Angel ST was presented on the Circuit de Algarve in Portugal at the occasion of the inaugural World Superbike Championship conference for the 2009 season, a series for which has been the sole supplier of tires starting from 2004 until 2012. The choice of the Portuguese circuit for the debut of Angel ST is not accidental: the new Pirelli product, the world leader in the motorcycle sector, benefiting from the vast Sports experience of Pirelli, which traditionally transferred to street bikes and to all motorcyclists the innovations and technological solutions refined within the racing environment. "Racetracks are our open-air laboratory," explains Guglielmo Fiocchi, General Director of the Pirelli Motorcycle Tire Division. "The pilots are the best Superbike testers that could be desired, which each and every race offers us food for reflection and improvement. Even more so, this feedback is in addition to the continuous innovation generated by our laboratories in Italy and Germany, in which are born products such as Angel ST."

From a technical point of view, largely due to a trend-setting tread design, compound mixtures and innovative structure, this new Pirelli motorcycle tyre ensures incredible stability, maximum grip on dry and wet and considerable product life. Angel ST fits with sport-touring motorcycles (such as Yamaha FJR1300, Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa  and Kawasaki GTR 1400) and is designed for the needs of daily two-wheel riders, who often transform on the weekend to adventurous travelers who enjoy taking the route on the highway while watching out for curvy roads which allow flashes of exciting riding - but always in complete safety.

11/2008 Display wurde überarbeitet und zudem werden jetzt alle mit Winkelventilen ausgeliefert.

In den USA schon Pflicht - wird auch in der EU eifrig darüber diskutiert 
Ein Vorschlag der Europäischen Kommission sieht vor, dass Reifendruck-Überwachungssysteme für alle neuen Modelle ab 2012 und für alle Neuwagen ab 2014 Pflicht werden.

 

Das es beim Motorrad lebensgefährlich werden kann mit dem falschen Luftdruck zu fahren, sollte jeder mal für sich selber überlegen ob nicht 199,00 € in seine eigene Sicherheit investieren möchte !!
Denn wer auf einem freien Autobahnstück den Gashahn mal richtig aufdrehen möchte, sollte sich absolut sicher sein dass er auch den richtigen Luftdruck in den Reifen hat, oder auf der Landstrasse beruhigt es ungemein zu wissen dass die Reifen die Betriebstemperatur erreicht haben, was großen EInfluss auf die Haftungsreserven des Reifens hat.

Die Hersteller sollten auch ernsthaft mal darüber nachdenken, ob so was nich serienmäßig in ein Sport-Motorrad gehört.
Muss uns den immer der Gesetztgeber erst eine Pflicht auferlegen ??

 


11/2007 - Tire Watch wird serienmäßig in der neuen Kawasaki ZZR 1400 verbaut.KAWASAKI ZZR 1400
etwas störend dabe ist das nicht die originalen Winkelventile, sonderen gerade Ventile verwendet wurden. 

Für 2008 hat LDL auch ein Reifendruck Überwachungssystem angekündigt dass bei TT Schlauchreifen verwendet werden kann. Interessant für alle Endurofahrer.

 

 

 


03/2007 - Immer mehr Reifendruck-Kontrollsysteme gibt es auf dem Markt. So bietet auch Hella 2007 ein neues System für PKW zum nachrüsten an.Viele Farzeughersteller bauen diese serienmäßig ein.
In einigen BMW Motorräder gibt es ein Druckkontrollsystem zum Teil serienmäßig oder als Sonderausstattung.
Wenn beim Auto, dann erst recht beim Motorrad macht das Sinn, da der Luftdruck das Fahrverhalten eines Motorrad wesentlich beeinflusst.

Das von LDL angebotene "Tirewatch" für Motorräder das von myNETmoto vertrieben wird, wurde von dem Magazin    getestet und als "gut" befunden. Die Montage ist sehr einfach und jeder sollte sich die Frage stellen ob  die 299,00 229,00 € die das System jetzt kostet - für seine Sicherheit nicht gut angelegtes Geld ist.
Weniger Kraftstoffverbrauch - geringerer Reifenverschleiss - von einem Sturz zwecks zu geringem Luftdrucks ganz zu schweigen.  ... mal ehrlich wie oft haben Sie letztes Jahr den Luftdruck geprüft !!

 


03/2006  - TIRE WATCH - neues Reifendruck-Kontrollsystem für Motorradreifen
Ende letztes Jahr hat LDT Technology ein neues Reifendruck-Kontrollsystem "TIRE WATCH" vorgestellt. Das System zeichnet sich aus, dass es permanent sowohl den Luftdruck als auch die Temperatur beider Reifen auf dem beleuchteten Display anzeigt.

 Weiterhin wird auch die aktuelle Ausentemperatur angezeigt. (+ Frostwarnung ab 3° ) Die Montage erfolgt sehr einfach, indem das bestehende Ventil durch ein neues inklusive Sender ersetzt wird. Der Sender im Reifen wiegt nur 26gr und die Batterie soll 5 Jahre lang halten, also wahrscheinlich länger wie der Reifen. Der Transmitter sendet in UHF Frequenz und sendet mit 434 Mhz. Das komplette System kostet 299,00 € und ist über myNETmoto zu beziehen. Es gibt zur Zeit drei unterschiedliche Kits.

With the new ContiRaceAttack Custom, Continental presents a wide high-performance tyre for custom bikes. The new tyre, in 240mm form, not only excels with its attractive design, its modern zero-degree belt and a sporting rubber CCT compound – Continuous Compound Technology – but is also the lightest of its size and one of the first wide rear tyre for motorcycles to have a speed index of over 270kph.
  
The motorcycle division at Continental broadens its range with a very special tyre for very special motorcycles. The attractive high-performance wide tyre in the size 240/40 ZR 18 is specially developed for the world-wide growing segment of custom specials.  Cruisers, choppers, muscle bikes, streetfighters or stretched sports bikes – anyone modifying a bike going for a proper wide-tyre look will find the perfect presentation with the Conti Custom but can also rely on a convincing performance in all situations.
 
Custom bikes are usually powerful, big-capacity bikes, capable of extreme performance, even if these take place in short bursts. The show factor is mainly the most important point. To get a powerful look and a tread design transmitting dynamic forces even standing still were important during the conception. But at the same time Conti’s technicians used all their know-how to guarantee future buyers of the ContiRaceAttack Custom tyre performance above the average.
 
No compromises were allowed in the design of the ContiRaceAttack Custom. The rubber compound Black Chilli, already proven on sports bikes, gives high grip on dry and wet roads and also good grip even when the tyres are initially cold. A modern belt design with a zero-degree belt gives stability at all speeds, high mechanical grip and a finely-tuned comfort. Less wear is guaranteed by the genial Continuous Compound Technology. This manufacturing process, with various temperature ranges, makes variable grip factors possible, using only one compound. Softer on the flanks, harder in the centre, with a variable transition between them – perfectly combining sporting qualities in corners with a high overall mileage.
 
Extremely wide, with an extravagant tread pattern – calling the ContiRaceAttack Custom an eye-catcher is no exaggeration. A greater slick area on the sides and a sparse but forceful tread design are elements taken from the RaceAttack sports tyres and underline the functionally sporting message. What you can’t see, though, is noticed in a positive way through better grip and improved control: The RaceAttack Custom is the lightest 240 wide tyre on the market. This reduces rotational force and also the unsprung weight – both help improve handling and riding dynamics. Last, but not least, the RaceAttack Custom is one of the first tyres in this size, intended for sports specials, to have a speed index of over 270kph, giving the rider safety reserves in hand.
 
Complementing the ContiRaceAttack Custom for the rear wheel there is also a 120/70 ZR 17 size front tyre to allow for a harmonious balance, good grip and superb feedback. This tyre, too, has a zero-degree belt. The special profile with a wide contact patch in corners guarantees more grip and precise handling.
Other front tyre sizes, currently being developed, have different belt constructions. The versions in 19inch sizes will have a radial Kevlar construction, whereas the 21-inchers will be diagonals.
 
The ContiRaceAttack Custom in the size 240/40 ZR 17 will fit all custom bikes with a wheel rim size of 8 inches. This includes all Harley Davidson V-Rods (including the special models) and also the brand new V-Rod Muscle. It can also be mounted on rims up to 9 inches wide. Customisers and specials builders will be happy to hear that the new star on the wide-tyre market is available from October 2008, as is the 120/70 ZR 17 front tyre. The other versions in the sizes 19 and 21 inches are in development.

30.000 GÄSTE BEI WERNER-FESTIVAL ... ES WURDE MÄCHTIG GUMMI GEGEBEN !! Zum dreitägigen Festival "Werner - das Rennen 2004" am Lausitzring in Südbrandenburg sind nach Angaben der Veranstalter 30 000 Motorrad- und Musikfans aus ganz Deutschland gekommen. Höhepunkt war gestern die Neuauflage eines legendären Wettrennens zwischen dem Schöpfer der Comicfigur Werner, Rötger "Brösel" Feldmann, auf seinem mehrmotorigen Motorrad und seinem Freund "Holgi" Holger Henze im roten Porsche. "Brösel" hatte das erste Duell vor 16 Jahren beim Werner-Festival in Schleswig-Holstein verloren. Auch die Revanche missglückte: Feldmann kam nicht vom Start weg.
